Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity with custom rom from other manufacturers- possible?

Hi Folks
Is it possible to load/install a rom from another manufacturer?
I'm looking out for an update kitkat -> lollipop for my cherry phone.
Reason: I'm having problems with apps receiving datas over wlan but not when mobile data (via providers sim) are only on.

Can someone answer my question?
