Guys I desperately need any help I can get on this one. I am not tech savvy... Recently I bought a new phone, the P8Max, an upgrade from my G flex (awesome sturdy device, love the battery longevity but the lack of ram and 720p is getting too low for me)
Naturally I need to transfer my whatsapp chat histories from the old to new phone. Which I was unable to perform a manual backup and the last daily routine backup was on April 2014...........
I've tried copying my whole whatsapp folder from phone onto PC which were 3GB but of course that doesn't help since the history were never generated on my end on the phone. I contacted whatsapp support but they told me my device was rooted and they couldn't help. I then looked for ways to unroot my G Flex.
In SuperSU's settings, I selected "Full unroot" but it just kept loading and didn't do anything.
Also worth mentioning is that I don't think my G Flex is fully rooted.. While it says Access granted in Root Checker, I failed to use some features in sound control.
I used whatsapp PLUS around May 2014, but have switched back to the official whatsapp maybe Dec 2014. Will that be the problem or I just need to figure out a way to fully unroot my G flex and then I can finally backup my messages and use my new phone..
Or are there alternative methods in backing up my messages on whatsapp?
