[Mod][Root] Unleash the power of the Galaxy S5 mini (need testing on kitkat)

Hello guys

I've seen lots of people here and on other places complaining about the S5 mini
bad preformance,multitasking,apps being redrawed...etc including me especially after updating to lollipop (G800H)

so I've searched alot really alot for mods to improve the device and aftar alot of testing i was able to do that

so im just sharin with you other people works nothing more



STEP 1

if you're not a lollipop user (G800H) skip Step 1 and 2

download and install this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...pdate-t3224352
it will fix any possible Sim&Wifi issues after updating to lollipop and improve the preformance a little

if you're already a lollipop user its fine install it and then reinstall the lollipop rom
factory reset is recommended aftar updating



STEP 2

Root your device using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...5-1-1-t3226508

i know most of you dont trust the russian site but its 100% safe I've been using it since it was released without any single problem


STEP 3

Download busybox and install it (free on the playstore)

download any kernel manager from the playstore (kernel adiutor is recommended)

go to build.prop and do the following:

In your build.prop under #DHA Properties change these two lines:

Code:

ro.config.dha_cached_max=12
ro.config.dha_empty_max=36

Add these 4 lines:

Code:

ro.config.dha_th_rate=2.3
ro.config.dha_lmk_scale=0.545
ro.config.sdha_apps_bg_max=70
ro.config.sdha_apps_bg_min=8

Scroll down beyond the DHA properties where the other properties are stored and remove duplicate entires of*

Code:

ro.config.dha_cached_max=
ro.config.dha_empty_max=
ro.config.dha_th_rate=
ro.config.dha_lmk_scale=

Finally this one will change your LMK values:

Code:

ro.config.oomminfree_high=7628,9768,11909,14515,16 655,20469

now go to virtual memory in kernel adiutor and change the swappiness to 175

reboot your device and you're done :)

TESTED ON MY G800H RUNNING STOCK 5.1.1
IT SHOULD WORK ON ANY 4.4+ TW ROM BUT HAVEN'T TESTED IT ON KITKAT
PLEASE TEST AND TELL ME

EXTRA

if you want to speed your phone even more then do the following:

EXTRA STEP 1

download and install Ram manager (available on the playstore as free and paid version)

make a new swap file with it (500MB is recommended)

it will increase the amount of ram for more multitasking



EXTRA STEP 2

use this mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...ience-t3228109

it will remove samsung system apps that you chose and other stuff freeing more system memory to make the device even faster and incase you want to install the swap on the system so there will be enough memory there
