Trouble Writing to External SD Card

I'm having an issue where I can't seem to write to my Samsung Pro 64GB SD card through MTP. It hangs at 16kb transferred and then crashes the window. I can transfer to the internal memory fine. Any ideas on why this is? Thanks.
