Should I update now or wait for 6.0 on Fi?

I'm currently on T-mobile but will be switching to Fi in a week or two when my SIM gets delivered. Is it safe to update to 6.0 now while still on T-mobile or should I wait till I'm on Fi before doing the 6.0 update?
