Hi all,
I have a 2014 HTC One M8, unlocked & s-off. I initially installed 'Android Revolution 11' on my phone without any problems. The problems started for me when I tried to return the phone to stock firmware (downgrade), before flashing the new version of Android Revolution.
I do not have a stock backup of my device. I did a nandroid backup & backed up a few times using TB but, honestly don't ask if I can find them cos I don't know where they are now... sorry. Thats the next thing I'm gonna put some research into. I have spent many many hours reading through threads with maybe 10 tabs open, going back & fourth & basicially getting nowhere. I finally plucked up the courage to ask you here for help! I really am in over my head and don't even have any friends who I can discuss android stuff with (cos they haven't a clue what I'm talking about and just ask... 'Why would you wanna do that?). During my months of research I learned quite a lot about ROMs, Kernels, firmware, radios et. I also heve been able to install & use the 'Fastboot' utility. My phone is soft bricked at the moment however, here are the results from 'fastboot getvar all'...
(bootloader) version-cpld: None
(bootloader) version-microp: None
(bootloader) version-main: 1.54.401.5
(bootloader) version-misc: PVT SHIP S-OFF
(bootloader) serialno: HT
(bootloader) imei:
(bootloader) imei2: Not Support
(bootloader) meid: 00000000000000
(bootloader) product: m8_ul
(bootloader) platform: hTCBmsm8974
(bootloader) modelid: 0P6B10000
(bootloader) cidnum: HTC__001
(bootloader) battery-status: good
(bootloader) battery-voltage: 0mV
(bootloader) partition-layout: Generic
(bootloader) security: off
(bootloader) build-mode: SHIP
(bootloader) boot-mode: FASTBOOT
(bootloader) commitno-bootloader: ab0efa49
(bootloader) hbootpreupdate: 11
(bootloader) gencheckpt: 0
all: Done!
Ideally what I wanted was to have my phone running 'Android Revolution HD 43'with the latest stock kernel & firmware (having the possibilly to update OTA would also be nice).
I can change the cidnum: to 11111111, or anything else (if that makes any difference).
If I had a simple guide to point me in the right direction on what I need to do, I don't mind then doing the research.
If someone who knows exactly what I need to do then a small bullet point list would be very much appreciated i.e.
1. Change CID to...
2. ReLock the Phone (or not)
3. Install hboot..... with Radio....
4. Install custom recovery...
5. Find & flash this .zip
6. etc...
Things I can do...
I have been using TWRP recovery recently but have used CWM in the past so again I don't mind researching & finding another, if thats what it'll take to resolve my problem.
I can use the 'adb' & 'fastboot' utilities & have all the necessary drivers installed on my computer. I can Relock/Unlock the phone. I can use the oem RUU & flash recoveries & img files etc.
Please help!
Thanks in advance
