My Guide in Returning to HTC SENSE

Hi everyone, with the eagerly awaited Android 6.0 and Sense 7 for our beloved M8 just around the corner, many of us GPE guys may want to easily get back to sense ready for the OTA right? Although Grentuu has already got a fantastic thread about converting back to sense from anGPE RUU conversion, I believe it to be slightly long winded. Due to this, I am going to share with you all a method which has worked for me many times over, as I cannot stick with either sense or GPE too long without getting bored of its looks and features.

Non of these files were created by me, all rights go to the talented developers who spent time on creating these files for your purposes.

Requirements;

1. You must be S-OFF in order for this to work


2. You must have 60% battery or above (The higher the better)


3. You must have working ADB

Step 1; Downloading the REQUIRED Files

(Non of the files have been altered or tampered with, they're the same as the day I downloaded them from their developers. Files are Hosted on my personal MediaFire Account. if you can, please mirror if available)
- 0P6BIMG.zip (WWE 4.16.401.10) ****COPY TO AN EXTERNAL SD CARD****
- 1.54.401.5-W_Splash.zip (Important)

Step 2; Changing CID

1. Ensure you have USB Debugging enabled [Settings > Developer Options > 'enable' USB Debugging]


2. Go to your ADB Folder and [Shift+Right Click] -> 'open command window here'


3. Plug in your device (must be USB 2.0)


4. Once the phone is recognised by your computer type [adb devices] (ensure your device shows in the command window)


5. Next, type [adb reboot bootloader] your phone should now boot into the bootloader.


6. Next we will CHANGE your CID from 'GOOGL001' to 'HTC__001'


7. Type 'fastboot oem writecid HTC__001' and press enter, it should take a second or so. (This is necessary in order to do the next step)


8. Once done, type [fastboot reboot bootloader] one rebooted, you CID should have changed to 'HTC__001'

Now Proceed to the next step.

Step 3 Flashing 1.54.401.5-W_Splash.zip (Essentially Sense Bootloader)
This is needed in order to do the SD CARD RUU method. without the sense bootloader, the 0P6BIMG.zip will fail.

1. Now type [fastboot oem rebootRUU] your screen should now change to a silver 'HTC' Logo


2. Next type [fastboot flash zip 1.54.401.5-W_Splash.zip] NOTE! drag and drop the .ZIP file from where you have it downloaded into the ADB CMD window, this will ensure the file path is correct.


3. Press enter (it may fail the first time) just re-run the command and the file should flash properly.


4. Once done, type [fastboot reboot-bootloader] this should take you to the distinctive white sense bootloader.

Now its time to flash the 0P6BIMG.zip

You will now flash the 0P6BIMG.zip that you placed onto your external SD Card at the begging (NOTE! this will wipe your internal SD Card as does any other RUU)

1. If your phone has rebooted to the White Fastboot, you will notice it searching for the '0P6BIMG.zip'


2. Once the device has found the .zip it will ask you to press 'Volume Up' to start the update.


3. Let your device flash the update (NOTE! can take up to 15 minutes. BE PATIENT!!!)


4. Once the device has finished flashing the .zip, it will ask you to press 'Power' in order to reboot your phone.


5. Allow your phone to boot fully

RESULT! you have successfully returned your device back to stock :D
Please help others if they become stuck, I created this thread so 'noobs' like me can easily return to stock after RUU'ing to GPE.
