Can't get microphone to work

Hi all, I've just got a new Tab S2 8.0 SM-T710.

I'm running stock 5.1.1

Tried to Shazam...circle doesn't move...

Tried SoundHound, hung a few times. Now starts up, but not listening

Tried RTA analyzer ...app hung

Tried setting up OK Google....doesn't hear anything...same with voice search. Etc

Tried recording video...recorded sound! WTF!

I was sure it was a bad mic, but since it records audio during video capture maybe it is a SW problem?

Maybe it has separate mic for camera?

Anyone else have similar issues?

Thinking of doing a factory reset, but it's such a pain to reconfigure all my apps.
